Lacrosse shuts out Bulldogs on Senior Day

Georgetown Lacrosse honored seniors Aubree Lair, Melanie Wieland, and Madison Haney before Friday's regular season finale against Tennessee Wesleyan. The trio responded with a team-leading performance for the ages. Georgetown did not allow a single goal in a 22-0 rout of the Bulldogs.

Lair and Wieland continued the pregame celebration by combining for the first 3 goals of the game in the 1st quarter. Seshadri Pratama then led the underclassmen with the 1st of 3 more goals to give GC a 6-0 lead after 1.

Lair took back over in the 2nd with 2 more goals. Katerina Gilbert did the same with 2 straight as Georgetown struck for 3 goals in 51 seconds for a 9-0 lead with 12:50 to go until halftime. Lair's 2nd of the quarter made it a 10-0 lead and started the running clock. Madison Diaz and Hannah Voss also found goals as GC took a 12-0 lead to halftime.

The duo kept it rolling in the 3rd with the 1st 3 goals in 4:39 for a 15-0 lead. Aubree Lair scored again for a 16-0 lead going to the 4th. Not lost in all of the offense was a shutdown defense that allowed a mere 5 shots on goal the entire day. Madison Haney stopped all 5 to now stand at 496 career saves.

The offense was not finished as the game headed to the 4th. Melanie Wieland completed the hat trick just 34 seconds into the quarter. Aubree Lair scored 2 more for the double hatty. Katerina Gilbert also scored twice in the 4th to double her output on the day.

In total, 6 Tigers combined for the 22 goals, with 5 going for hat tricks.

The Tigers now prepare for the AAC Tournament with a quarterfinal game on Thursday at 2:00pm. The tournament is being hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.
