(RV) Tigers Sweep Warriors
BABSON PARK, Fla. – The (RV) Georgetown College men's volleyball team (9-6, 5-1 RSC) made it five straight wins, beating Webber International (1-11, 0-0 AAC) on Tuesday night in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
The Tigers defeated the Warriors in three sets, 25-13, 25-13, 25-21.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After splitting the first four points, Georgetown stormed out with a 6-0 run to take an 8-2 lead and did not look back. The Warriors got one point before the Tigers rattled off four more to lead 12-3. The set of runs continued as Georgetown strung together five straight points to lead 18-7 and all but put the opener out of reach. Robin Puss' kill finished things off, 25-13.
The Tigers took the opening four points of the second and held an 8-3 lead, similar to the start of the first set. Leading 9-5, the Tigers put the second set out of reach with a 6-1 run. A 5-1 stretch made things 19-8 after a pair of kills, an ace, and a service error put Georgetown within reach of the second set. Grant Hapner closed off the set with a kill, helping the Tigers claim the second, 25-13, and go up, 2-0.
The Warriors started off the third set strong, taking the first three points. Adam Szewinski's kill sandwiched between an attack error gave the Tigers back the lead, 5-4, though. The Tigers continued capitalizing on Warrior mistakes, using a 6-2 run to take ultimate control of the set and match, 11-7. Despite Webber pulling back within two late in the set, the Tigers went on to claim the sweep, 25-21.
THE TEAM
Georgetown hit .473 as a squad, with WU earning a -.013 mark. The Tigers had 42 kills and 40 assists. Georgetown collected six service aces and 25 digs.
THE PLAYERS
* Robin Puss produced a team-high 10 kills with five assists and a .769 attacking percentage.
* Grant Hapner had six kills with two digs and a block assist.
* Adam Szewinski added six kills to go with four block assists and a service ace.

The Tigers finish up their Florida trip, battling against #7 St. Thomas (15-3, 8-0 AAC) on Wednesday night.
