Tigers Win Program's First-Ever Duals, Defeat Hiram at Hilltopper Duals
WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. – The Georgetown College women's wrestling team picked up the programs first-ever dual win with a win over Hiram College at the Hilltopper Duals on Sunday.
Facing off against West Liberty to start the day, the Tigers picked up points with Camara Carter's decision. Jes'Onia Barefield picked up a pin later in the 138-class to help the Tigers cut it to a 19-10 dual before the dual was decided in the next two weight classes. Jasmin Beckham finished the dual with a fall over Jamie Shapton.
In the second dual of the day, Georgetown secured the program's first-ever dual win in history. After Shelby Clayton and Anna March picked up forfeit victories, Nicole Arroyo gave Georgetown a 15-0 lead with her decision victory. Another forfeit won by Jes'Onia Barefield made things 20-0 Tigers before Hiram scored. Brilynn Gemmer's fall gave Hiram its first points and a tech fall by Emma Bolyard made it 24-6. A'Nyiah Sullivan finished the day with a decision victory to help the Tigers to the 29-11 dual win.
