Doubles carries Women's Tennis to road win over FHU
Women's Tennis traveled to Freed-Hardeman on Saturday and, thanks to stellar doubles play, pulled out a 4-3 win over the Lions to improve to 3-2 in MSC play.
The #1 doubles team of Samantha Spady and Bailee Martin easily picked up a point with a 6-2 win to kick off the day. The momentum carried through doubles play as Lydia Prince and Emma Hill won in 2nd doubles action, 6-4. Maddie Gill and Hana Dixon brought home the doubles sweep with a 6-2 win.
In singles action, Spady kept her momentum rolling with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 win to pick up the first singles point of the day for GC. Emma Hill followed and also needed a 3rd set to win but got the job done, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6. Maddie Gill finished off her perfect day with a 6-3, 6-2 singles win.
The team will stay in Tennessee to take on Bethel on Sunday.
