#2 Cumberlands Defeat (RV) Tigers in Regular Season Finale
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The (RV) Georgetown College women's lacrosse team (4-11, 3-3 AAC) took a 23-5 loss to end the regular season to #2 University of the Cumberlands (17-1, 6-0 AAC) at Toyota Stadium on Wednesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter saw the Patriots claim the first six goals of the evening with an outright championship in the balance. Georgetown pushed back with goals from Madison Diaz and Lindsey Maynard, both unassisted, but Cumberlands closed out the frame with a 7-2 advantage.
Cumberlands tallied seven more goals in the second period, this time scoring the opening seven goals of the frame over the opening 11 minutes. Hailey Voss notched a goal with just 54 seconds remaining in the half to make it a 14-3 game at halftime.
The third quarter brought six more Patriot goals as Voss collected a brace, scoring again just inside five minutes to play.
In the fourth, Cumberlands stretched its lead to as much as 23-4 before Diaz scored her final career goal at home at the 1:13 mark to finalize the scoring at 23-5.
THE TEAM
Georgetown had 18 shots while UC had 36. The Patriots held a 16-14 advantage in draw controls. The Tigers collected 12 ground balls and made 11 saves.

UP NEXT
The Tigers secured the #4-seed for the coming Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament, which is set to begin on Thursday, April 23, at Reinhardt University.
Georgetown takes on Montreat on Thursday, with the first draw time still to be announced.
