1st quarter explosion leads to rout of Banyans

Georgetown started its week in the Sunshine State with a matchup against New College of Florida on Monday. The Tiger offense erupted from the start, putting up 9 goals in the 1st quarter en route to an 18-3 win for the team's 3rd straight to get to .500 on the year.

Madison Diaz got it going for Georgetown just 29 seconds into the game with an unassisted tally. Aubree Lair scored the first of her 5 at the 12:38 mark off a feed from Melanie Wieland for a 2-0 lead. Katerina Gilbert made the lead 3 just 32 seconds. Wieland got in the scoring column with 11:15 to play. The onslaught continued to the 4:23 mark when Hannah Voss put goal number 9 on the board. NCF got a goal back with 2:16 to go to make it a 9-1 Tiger lead heading to the 2nd.

Seshadri Pratama fired a ball home with 9:34 to go in the 2nd to put Georgetown into double figures. After an NCF goal with 6:21 to go, Aubree Lair scored her 4th of the half with 5:40 to play for an 11-2 lead. Melanie Wieland put a bow on a dominant first half with 2 goals in the final 1:57 to give the Tigers a 13-2 halftime lead.

Sydney Dumaurier made it 14 just 1:33 into the 3rd quarter. The pace slowed until the 7:37 mark when Aubree Lair fired her 5th home, followed by a goal from Hannah Voss with 5:56 to play. Georgetown led 16-2 until NCF scored with 51 seconds remaining in the 3rd.

The Tigers added 2 more in the 4th thanks to Seshadri Pratama and Katerina Gilbert. The defense continued its 2nd half strength as NCF got nothing in the 4th for the 18-3 final. In total, the defense only allowed 4 total shots on goal. The Tiger offense was just as efficient with 18 goals on 22 shots.

Aubree Lair went a perfect 5-5 on shots on goal. Katerina Gilbert continued her brilliant run with 3 more goals and 3 more assists. Melanie Wieland scored the hat trick to go with 2 helpers. Seshadri Pratama, Hannah Voss, and Madison Diaz all scored twice, and Sydney Dumaurier put one home.

Georgetown is next in action on Wednesday morning in Babson Park, FL. The Tigers will take on Webber International at 11:00am.
