No. 25 Tigers Pick Off (RV) Lourdes to End 2025

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The No. 25 Georgetown College women's basketball team (15-1) stayed perfect at home winning, 71-64, over (RV) Lourdes (10-2) in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym to finish up 2025 on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tigers struggled to get rolling offensively early on, as they came up short on the first seven shot attempts. Eszter Dioszegi broke the silence with her first bucket nearly three minutes into the game. Georgetown's deficit was 10 at the media timeout before Haley Dillman connected from range. Daysha Reid splashed in four points, and Taylee Woodbury added four herself, helping the Tigers cut it to a 22-17 game after the first.

The opening stages of the second quarter saw Lourdes build as much as a seven-point lead before Anna Long's and-1 conversion made it a one-possession game with 6:06 to play in the half. Georgetown trailed 30-29 at the media timeout, and Woodbury sank a 3-pointer with just over a minute to play in the half to give the Tigers their first lead of the day. Daisy Gale closed the half with a made jumper to give Georgetown a 36-35 lead at the break.

Gale picked up where she left off in the third quarter, scoring five of the first seven points for Georgetown. Despite the offensive rhythm picking up, the Gray Wolves held the advantage at the third quarter media timeout, 47-45. Addesa Miller's 3-pointer created some separation for the Tigers in the closing stages of the third as the hosts took a 56-51 advantage into the fourth.

Kayra Freeman and Long both scored six points in the fourth quarter to close the door on Lourdes. Despite the Gray Wolves cutting it to a single-possession game on multiple occasions, down the stretch Long nailed a 3-pointer with just over three minutes to play to stretch it to a 68-62 game and ultimately sealed things.

Georgetown shot 33.8% from the field. The Tigers were 6-36 (16.7%) from deep and were 11-15 (73.3%) at the free-throw line. GC outrebounded LU, 50-48. The Tigers led in assists, 11-10, while the Tigers picked up the only two blocks of the game. GC had 10 steals while the Gray Wolves created five.
