Reid's 33 Lifts Tigers over Harriers on Halloween

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The (RV) Georgetown College women's basketball team (3-0) picked up another convincing win, 114-55, over Miami-Hamilton (0-1) in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym on Halloween night, Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Daysha Reid's 33-point outing began just seconds into the game as the freshman hit the first basket of the game. The Harriers had no answer for Reid, who finished the first quarter with 11 points, nearly outscoring the visitors herself. The Tigers jumped out to a quick 11-2 lead and did not look back. Jackie Onunwor added seven points to help the Tigers to a 36-15 advantage after the first 10 minutes.

The second quarter was the lowest-scoring period for both sides. The Tigers still outscored the Harriers 18-11 in the frame, but shot just 40% (8-of-20) from the field, their worst percentage all night. Kayra Freeman led the way with eight points, helping the Tigers to a 54-26 advantage at the break.

Out of the locker room, Freeman helped Georgetown to a 10-point quarter behind six quick points in under a minute and a half. Miami-Hamilton's Beri Ngwa scored 11 of her team-high 14 points in the third, accounting for all but seven points for the Harriers in the period. The Tigers finished off their 30-point quarter with a Taylee Woodbury buzzer beater to lead 84-44 after three complete.

Reid poured in 11 more points in the fourth, on 4-of-5 shooting, to help the Tigers cruise to their third straight 100-point night. The Harriers made just three field goals for 11 points in the fourth as Georgetown went on to win 114-55.
