4th quarter rally sinks Tigers

Through 3 quarters, Georgetown was able to maintain a lead in a tight game at Bethel. The 4th quarter proved to be a different story as Bethel outscored the Tigers, 27-15, to steal a crucial win away, by a 68-59 final.

Defense was the story for both teams in the first half as neither side made 10 baskets in the half. Georgetown led just 24-22 at the halftime break. The 3rd quarter saw both teams make adjustments and find ways to score. The Tigers shot 53% in the quarter, while the Wildcats were at 50%. Erin Toller scored 10 of her game-high 27 here to give the Tigers a 44-41 lead heading to the 4th.

In the 4th quarter, Bethel shot 6-11 from the field, but the ultimate story was foul shooting. The Wildcats shot 17 free throws in the 4th, connecting on 14, and thus not allowing Georgetown to get back over the top. The Tigers offense also hit a wall in the quarter, going just 4-15 from the floor and 6-11 from the foul line. The cold shooting allowed Bethel to slowly build its lead as the quarter went along and Georgetown never could find its rhythm again.

Erin Toller finished the night with 27 points, the lone Tiger in double figures. She also added 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Izzy Lamparty finished with 9 points, while Madison Darnell added 8. Lisa Suljemani scored 4 points, giving her 994 in her collegiate career. The Tigers shot just 37% for the game and were minus-15 at the free throw line.

Georgetown will take next Thursday off before heading to Cumberlands next Saturday with a 1:00pm tip time.
