No. 16 Blue Raiders Sweep Tigers
COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Georgetown College softball team (10-13, 3-6 MSC) played a Mid-South Conference road series at Lindsey Wilson University (25-3, 5-1 MSC) on Saturday and Sunday at Marilyn D. Sparks Park.
The Blue Raiders took down the Tigers 2-0 in game one before Lindsey Wilson won game two, 6-1.
On Sunday, the Blue Raiders closed the series with a 7-4 win over the Tigers.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
With one away and two on, the game's only two runs came in the bottom of the first. A bases-clearing double made it 2-0 Blue Raiders. Georgetown produced six hits over the next six innings, leaving six runners on base. Lindsey Wilson, on the other hand, managed just three hits the rest of the way, but the damage was done, as the Blue Raiders went on to win the opener, 2-0.

* Delaney Vaughn went 1-3.
* Kylie Miller (7-4) took the loss, striking out four over six innings of work, allowing two runs and two walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
Both sides got a hit in the first inning before Addi Watson broke open the game in the second with a solo shot to center field. The homer was the lone run the Tigers would score in the game, though, as Lindsey Wilson added three runs in the fourth and in the sixth behind three doubles. The Blue Raiders won, 6-1.

* Addi Watson went 1-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
* Kinley Lucas was 1-2 with a walk.
* Addi Watson (2-6) took the loss, tossing 3.0 innings and allowing three earned runs and one walk off seven hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME THREE
A single up the middle for LWU got the scoring started in this one as Georgetown responded with two runs in the second. Back-to-back singles plated runs for Georgetown, who got a leadoff single in the third but nothing else. The Blue Raiders led the third off with a solo shot before a sacrifice fly gave the lead back to the hosts. Georgetown pushed back with another two-run frame, this time in the fifth. Kady Dennis singled to right before Haylee Stansbury drew a walk on a 10-pitch at-bat to give the Tigers a 5-3 lead. A four-run inning put the game out of reach as the Blue Raiders scored via a sacrifice fly, an error and a single in the sixth to hang on for the 7-4 win.
