Tigers Produce Strong Performance at IWU Twilight Invitational

MARION, Ind. – The Georgetown College cross country teams took on the Indiana Wesleyan University cross country course at the Twilight Invitational on Friday for its second meet of the year.

The women's team finished 12th of 18. Liza Pollio led the Tigers with time of 24:17.60, good for 51st overall. Elizabeth Lavinder, Lexi Ralph, Rebecca Kainer and Katelynn Gaddis rounded out the team scoring for the Tigers, all finishing strong.

The men's side finished 20th of 20. Bode Byall took the top time for the Tigers, finishing in 26:51.00. Brody Miller, Riley Morris, Layne Clark and Josiah McMahan were also tested on the course for team points.

Men: 8K | 20 Teams | 304 Individuals

The IWU Cross Country course is considered to be one of the fastest courses in the state of Indiana. The course is 100% on well-groomed grass with long straights and sweeping turns. The entire first and last miles are designed for crowd interactions and cheering. The course serves as the host site for the Marion CC Invitational, the Wildcat Classic Invitational, NCC Conference Championships, as well as the IHSAA Sectional and Regionals.

UP NEXT
The Tigers have a full two weeks to prepare for the Midway Invitational on Friday, September 19.

The Tigers take on the course on Falling Springs Park in Versailles for the second consecutive year.

Last season, Liza Pollio paced the women's team and nearly women's race with a second-place finish with a time of 25:26.51. Layne Clark holds the top returning time for the men's team with an outing of 29:21.99 in the 8K.
