Nanpuya 184 Championship Bound After Day Two at NAIA National Championships
PARK CITY, Kan. – Navarro Nanpuya will wrestle in the 184-pound championship match after remaining undefeated at the NAIA National Championships on Friday in the Heartland Credit Union Arena.
Doug Dittmer lost to No. 13-seeded Barret Brandt via pin to see his championship run end before No. 7 Navarro Nanpuya took the mat.
Nanpuya continued his dominant performance in Kansas with an impressive day. First, he took down No. 2-seeded Kendall Norfleet via sudden victory before defeating No. 3-seeded Tre Morrisette via decision to punch his way into the 184-pound championship match on Saturday.
Luke Cox advanced via a disqualification from Seth Suvak but was forced to medically forfeit in the next round against Jordan Sommers, ending his run at the championships.
