Tigers Receiving Votes in First NAIA Top 25 Coaches Rating of 2026
GEORGETOWN, KY – For the fourth week in a row, the Georgetown College men's wrestling team is once again receiving points in the NAIA men's wrestling rating released by the NAIA on Thursday.
Since the last ratings, Georgetown finished the Rocky Top Duals 1-2 overall, with a win over Brewton-Parker. Both Marcus James and Leland Reeves picked up two wins on the day, helping the Tigers score against both Brewton-Parker and Reinhardt.
Two Tigers are in the national rankings, including Marcus James at #16 in the 197-pound class, with 70 points overall. Leland Reeves moved up to #23 in the 133-pound class with 18 points.
Grand View (Iowa) men's wrestling opened the new year atop the fourth rating for men's wrestling, leading the field with 246 points. Life (Ga.) remained steady at No. 2 with 238 points, while Southeastern (Fla.) climbed into the top three with 235 points, swapping positions with Indiana Tech, which slid one spot to No. 4 with 212 points.
The remainder of the top eight held firm, led by Southern Oregon at No. 5, followed by Oklahoma City, Campbellsville (Ky.), and Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). Cumberland (Tenn.) inched up one spot to No. 9, while Providence (Mont.) surged three places to No. 10 in this edition.
Friends (Kan.) made a notable push, rising three places to No. 17, while Marian University (Ind.) also moved up one spot to No. 16. Reinhardt (Ga.) and Montana State-Northern entered the rankings after receiving votes at Nos. 23 and 24, in the previous rating.
The individual rankings produced just two new top-ranked wrestlers, with Victor Guzman of Cumberlands (Tenn.) moving to No. 1 at 149 and Tate Picklo of Oklahoma City taking over the top spot at 174.
The Tigers hit the mats for the first time in the New Year on Monday, January 5, for their first-ever conference match against Cumberlands.
The match starts at 7:00 p.m. in the UC Wrestling Gym in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
