Tigers Receiving Votes in Latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches Rating of the Year
GEORGETOWN, KY – The Georgetown College men's wrestling team is once again receiving points in the second regular-season NAIA men's wrestling rating released by the NAIA on Thursday.
Georgetown is coming a week in which it won its first dual in program history on Friday at the Glenville State duals.
Josh Sharron (2-1 at 149 pounds), Clayton Shaddix (2-0 at 174 pounds), Doug Dittmer (2-0 at 184 pounds), Marcus James (2-1 at 197 pounds), and Luke Cox (2-1 at 285 pounds) all notched multiple wins on the day.
Marcus James is ranked #15 in the 197-weight class with 82 points in the second rating.
Grand View (Iowa) men's wrestling maintained its hold on the top spot in the second regular-season edition of the NAIA Men's Wrestling rating, backed by 240 points and four individual wrestlers ranked No. 1. After slipping to No. 4 in the last rating, Life (Ga.) bounces back in the Nov. 20 edition to the No. 2 slot, fueled by 221 points. The top five is rounded out by Southeastern (Fla.) in third, Indiana Tech in fourth, and Oklahoma City in fifth.
Oklahoma City continued its upward trend, breaking into the Top 5 after climbing from No. 7 to No. 5, while Missouri Valley made its way back into the Top 10 with a two-spot rise to No. 9.
All ten top-ranked wrestlers held their spots at No. 1 for this rating and have been the frontrunners all season.
The Tigers are back on the mats, November 22 for the Lucha Open.
