Tigers Win First Dual in Program History, Go 2-1 on the Day
GLENVILLE, W. Va. – The Georgetown College men's wrestling team competed in its second-ever event on Friday at the Glenville State Duals. In the first matchup of the day, the Tigers defeated Davis & Elkins College, 36 to 15, marking the first dual win in Tiger men's wrestling history.
In the second dual of the day, the Tigers defeated Bethany College 39 to 10. The final matchup of the day was against Glenville State University, which is ranked in the top 10 of the NCAA Division 2 polls. Glenville State showed its experience against the first-year Tigers, taking the win 33 to 9. The Tigers finished the day with a 2-1 team record.
Josh Sharron (2-1 at 149 pounds), Clayton Shaddix (2-0 at 174 pounds), Doug Dittmer (2-0 at 184 pounds), Marcus James (2-1 at 197 pounds), and Luke Cox (2-1 at 285 pounds) all notched multiple wins on the day.
