Pendleton finishes 6th at NAIA Indoor Nationals

By virtue of a dominant regular season and Mid-South Conference title in the shot put, Wilson Pendleton got back to the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Gainesville, FL on Saturday.

Pendleton showed he remains among the elite in the NAIA with a 6th place finish.

The first throw of the day proved the best for the senior as he fired a distance of 16.49m (54 feet, 1.25 inches). Throw 2 was just a few inches behind at 16.39m.

The initial throw was more than enough for Pendleton to get through the prelims and into the final. Pendleton's best throw of the final round was his last at 16.44m.

Pendleton finished just 0.95 meters behind the eventual winner, Brayton Stephenson of Central Methodist (17.44m).

Pendleton and the Tigers now turn their focus to the outdoor season, starting on March 22nd with the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, TN.
