Men's T&F finishes 8th at Centre Indoor Showcase

Men's Indoor Track & Field traveled to Danville to compete in the Centre Indoor Showcase on Saturday. The Tigers had a number of bright spots in various disciplines to pick up 32 points and finish 8th in a 16-team field.

Elijah Walters was strong in the distance runs as he finished 2nd in the 5K with a time of 15:51. He also finished 6th in the 3K run with a time of 9:48.33. Riley Morris was right behind Walters in the 3K with a time of 9:50.95 to place 7th.

Justin Bynum brought home a 3rd place finish in the 1 mile race with a time of 4 minutes, 44 seconds. He also finished 4th in the 800m with a time of 2:07.83. Layne Clark ran with Bynum in the mile and finished 17th with a time of 5:02.

In the shorter runs, the Tigers picked up points in the 400m thanks to an 8th place run from Tadiwanashe Chikondo. Richard Harris placed 13th in the 400m. Bryant Curtis placed 10th in the 1K run just under 2:50. He also finished 11th in the 5K.

Wilson Pendleton was again in contention for a win in the shot put. After setting a meet record in 2024, Pendleton finished 2nd this year with a best throw of 15.64m.

The Tigers have a quick turnaround as they are scheduled to compete at Indiana Wesleyan University in the Wildcat Open this coming Friday.
