Tigers swept by Knights
After a gritty 4-3 win over Indiana Wesleyan on Friday, Men's Tennis headed into Saturday's matchup with confidence and momentum. It proved shortlived on this day at the Knights had the upper-hand most of the day in a 7-0 sweep.
Georgetown's only win on the day came thanks to the tandem of Will Barnes and Leo Schirmer in #1 doubles. The pair picked up a 6-4 win. Georgetown nearly had the team doubles point clinched in 2nd doubles but Alex Straiger and Stephen Taylor came up just short, 5-7. Marian clinched the point with a 6-2 win over Matthew Smith and Andrew Kennedy in #3 singles.
Singles action proved much tougher for the Tigers. Will Barnes did take a set in #1 singles but ultimately lost, 3-1. The remaining Tigers in singles all fell in straight sets.
Georgetown is next in action on Wednesday with a trip to Cumberlands. The action from Williamsburg starts at 1:00pm.
