Georgetown College men's soccer had to rally twice, and play double overtime for a golden goal win over University of Tennessee Southern.
The Tigers (10-1-1, 5-1-1) faced a two-goal deficit early in the second half, equalized the game with just less than 19 minutes left and Seba Bocaz Canales finished off the comeback for a 4-3 victory Wednesday.
The junior also assisted the goal in the 72nd minute that tied the game and kept GC's hopes alive.
The Firehawks (6-7, 3-4) started strong with a goal in the first 20 minutes. They recaptured the lead with a pair of goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half.
However, that was when Georgetown came to life. Alessandro Carnicelli scored twice, first from a pass by Esteban Betancurt Cardona and second off a set up by Canales. The first overtime was a stalemate and with just less than four minutes from the match being called a draw, Canales found the back of the net to give the visitors the win.
Georgetown is back in action 4 pm Sunday at Cumberland University.
