Zellman's hat trick helps Tigers to 7-3 win
Georgetown College men's soccer got three goals from Luca Zellman, tallied another six-plus goal night and took the sixth straight win of the season. The Tigers (6-0) handed Cincinnati Christian University (2-3) a 7-3 setback Wednesday at Toyota Stadium.
Zellman got it all started in the first minute of the game off the kickoff, he found himself one on one with the keeper and slid the shot past.
The Eagles made it interesting late, scoring three of the last three goals. However, the game was well in hand as Christopher Gschwent scored the game-winning goal just before halftime.
Seba Bocaz Canales scored in the 12th minute off a pass from Gschwent, then Noel Roman set up Zellman for his second goal of the half.
Ahmen Nossir set up Logan Sparks in the second half to get scoring going again. Zellman netted his hat trick goal in the 73rd minute and subbed out. Not 10 minutes later, the Eagles got rhythm on two goals in less than 10 seconds. Andrew Norman scored both while Sergio Perez set up the first and Junior N'Guessan the other.
On a goal kick restart, GC's junior goalie Jacob Roberts realized the quick play advantage, used his leg and sent the ball on to Lucas Cadiz. He battled up the field, keeping position, slipping past the diving goalie and netting the Tigers final goal.
Leo Anthony finished the night off for CCU just shy of a minute left.
Georgetown is back in action 4 pm Wednesday against Ohio Christian.
