Devlin's goal helps Tigers beat Bears
It was a defensive stalemate for the first 75 minutes Saturday as Georgetown College men hosted University of Pikeville on Senior Day. The Tigers roared away with a 2-0 win as Michael Devlin scored the game-winning goal.
The freshman from Ireland scored his first collegiate goal in the 76th minute off a double assist. Noel Roman slipped it to Logan Blankenship who flicked it on to Devlin for the goal.
Senior Nick Gregory added the insurance goal in the 79th minute off another assist from Roman.
This gives Georgetown nine wins, edging closer to the 10-win season of 2008.
Jacob Roberts continues to tack on to his GC single-season saves total with four against the Bears. He now has 124.
Romans two assists give him 10 for the season and also 26 points in the season. Both are climbing the top 10 list respectively. His 10 assists ties him for third-most and the 26th points is 10th best.
The Tigers are back in action 8 pm Tuesday against Campbellsville University. This game will wrap up the regular season and conference play.
