Tigers tally 2-0 win over Eagles
The tide began to turn late in the first half for Georgetown College men's soccer. The Tigers (3-4) then iced Wednesday's game against Asbury University on a hustle play by Logan Blankenship. Sanjay Karim started it all and GC won 2-0.
Blankenship scored his first goal of the season in the 78th minute when Roman's flick header went through the hands of Brian Woods off a corner kick. Blankenship was there to clean up the miss and it was 2-0 Georgetown.
The Eagles (2-3) controlled the tempo early and goalie Jacob Roberts made save after save to keep Georgetown in it until the offense starting clicking. The sophomore leads the country in saves (61) and saves per game (10.2). Roberts had nine against Asbury.
GC's first goal came in the 41st minute on a transition as Roman found Karim even with the Eagles back line. He slipped the ball through for Karim who was able to one touch it wide of the defender tracking him and get a shot low far post past the diving Wood.
Georgetown is back in action Saturday hosting Ohio Christian University.
