Men's Golf in 6th after Day 1 of MSC Championships

Men's Golf is in 6th place after the first 36 holes of the 2025 Mid-South Conference Championship.

Laine Schulten led the Tigers and is tied for 12th on the individual leaderboard. Schulten played a consistent opening round with 12 pars en route to a 76. He kept the consistency going in round 2 with 8 pars on the front 9 to go with 2 birdies and 6 pars on the back 9 to shoot an even par 72, for a 2-round total of 148 and +4 overall.

Christian Clements was the next Tiger on the board. He started off the opening round -2 through 10 holes but struggled over the final 8, including double bogeys on holes 2 and 3, to finish with a 77 (+5). In round 2, Clements birdied 1 and 12 and finished with a 74.

Carter Zutterman finished 1 shot behind Clements overall. Zutterman turned in 7 birdies over the 2 rounds, but 2 double bogeys saddled him to a +8 total (152). Evan Coffey finished at +14 overall but featured the highlight of the day with an eagle on the par-4 12th in his 2nd round. Connor Smith competed in the individual competition and finished at +28 (172).

The final round takes place on Tuesday starting at 8:00am.
