Tigers scare Colonels in exhibition
Georgetown College men's basketball led most of the first half against NCAA Division I Eastern Kentucky University. However, a basket with just more than five minutes left put the Colonels up for good, eventually winning 91-69. The No. 4 Tigers will look to learn from this exhibition game, restarting regular season action 7 pm Monday hosting Ohio State University – Lima.
Shadell Millinghaus scored 20 to lead four teammates in double figures. Quan Poindexter hit a layup at the buzzer of the first half and finished the game with 11. Jacob Conway had a solid night with 11 points and Troy Steward chipped in with 10.
GC held seven-point advantages twice in the first 20 minutes. EKU responded to the second with an 11-2 run for a three-point led it never relinquished.
Millinghaus hit a three early in the second half to tie it at 37, but the Colonels responded with a 10-0 run to put the game out of reach.
