SCORING SUMMARY
First Quarter:

  • After four straight three-and-outs to get things started, the Bobcats got the first first down of the day nearly five minutes in. After being shut down on the next set of downs, and the Tigers getting their first set of fresh downs on the next possession, St. Thomas found the scoreboard.
  • With 1:44 left to play in the first quarter, a 25-yard field goal from Zach Alvarez made it 3-0 Bobcats.

Second Quarter:

  • The Bobcats scored on their first drive of the second quarter after a turnover on downs gave the hosts the ball on the 40.
  • A pair of passes moved the ball nearly 30 yards for St. Thomas before the Bobcats converted on a fourth and four at the 26-yard line to keep their drive alive.
  • A 14-yard touchdown pass was completed just under five minutes into the second quarter, making it 10-0 St. Thomas.
  • The Bobcats scored just before halftime on a drive that lasted just over two minutes.
  • A 34-yard reception by David Hayes made it 17-0, St. Thomas.

Third Quarter:

  • The Tigers wasted little time responding in the second half.
  • Quarterback Gehrig Slunaker connected to three different receivers to put the Tigers into position.
  • A 32-yard pass to Clayton Davis cut into the deficit 17-7 but the Tigers could not find the end zone the rest of the way.

Fourth Quarter:

  • The Bobcats converted on a Slunaker mistake to begin the fourth quarter scoring. A drive that spanned the end of the third began with a 26-yard field goal at the 14:42 mark of the fourth.
  • On the very next Georgetown possession, Slunaker was sacked and lost the ball, which was recovered by the Bobcats for a 40-yard scoop and score.
  • The two-point conversion attempt failed, but the damage was done as St. Thomas went on to win, 26-7.
