Tigers Move up to No. 6 in latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll
GEORGETOWN, Ky – The Georgetown College football team moved up three spots to No. 6 in the first regular-season edition of the 2025 Netting Professionals NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll released on Monday.
The Tigers (3-0) began the preseason as the nation's No. 9-ranked team and have only improved since. A win over (RV) Pikeville set the stage for the season in the opener, followed by a road shutout of Rio Grande and another convincing home victory over Warner, which has the Tigers clicking on all cylinders.
Defensively, the Tigers are getting it done. Allowing just over 10 points a game has them issuing just the sixth fewest points per game in the NAIA. Their five fumble recoveries on the young season are tied for most in the land, while collectively their 78.0 tackles per game is also in the top-10.
On offense, nine passing touchdowns as a squad, led by Justice Burnam's five, has the Tigers tied for the second-most TD passes in the NAIA.
Grand View (Iowa) collected all 16 first-place votes and is the unanimous No. 1 while Keiser (Fla.) retained its position at No. 2. Benedictine and Morningside (Iowa) changed places at No. 3 and No. 4, following BC's four-point win over Morningside on Aug. 30. The top 10 also saw three new entries, as Montana Tech moved from No. 11 to No. 7, Friends (Kan.) went from No. 12 to No. 8, and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) joined the poll for the first time in 2025 at No. 10.
Georgetown travels to No. 14 St. Thomas (1-1), which is coming off a 52-24 loss to then-unranked Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders (3-0) jumped all the way to No. 10 with their monumental road victory and play in Toyota Stadium to open Mid-South play on October 4.
