No. 9 Tigers Pick up First Road Win with 48-0 rout of Rio Grande
JACKSON, Ohio – The No. 9 Georgetown College football team (2-0) scored in every quarter to complete a shutout of the University of Rio Grande (0-2) at Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Justice Burnam completed 17 of his 27 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns through the air while adding 38 yards of rushing.
- Georgetown ran for over 200 yards on the ground, led by 86 yards and a touchdown from Guy Bailey.
- Three different Tigers receivers caught a touchdown, with Brian Tawuo, Matthew Hinz, and Chandler Godby all finding the end zone.
- The Georgetown defense held Rio Grande to 157 total yards on 58 plays, led by a game-high eight tackles from Tyler Snell. The senior linebacker also produced one of two sacks.
SCORING SUMMARY
First Quarter:
- Georgetown received the ball on the 50-yard line after a prompt three-and-out by the Tiger defense.
- Over 11 plays and a 4:15-minute drive, Nate Craft capitalized on a 38-yard field goal to give the visitors a 3-0 lead.
- Both sides possessed the ball twice more but did not score the rest of the opening frame.
Second Quarter:
- The Tigers completed their 13-play 96-yard drive to begin the second quarter behind a Burnam pass to Matthew Hinz for a six-yard touchdown.
- After another three-and-out by the Red Storm, the Tigers struck again. This time Guy Bailey punched in a two-yard rush after Burnam found Tawuo for a 26-yard completion to set him up, making it a 17-0 game.
- Another three-and-out pitched by the Tiger defense led to another Georgetown touchdown. This time Burnam found Tawuo for a 27-yard score and a 24-0 lead.
Third Quarter:
- The opening possession of the second half saw Jamarcus Robinson run back a 92-yard kickoff return for the Tigers' quickest score of the season thus far, 14 seconds.
- The Red Storm were limited to just three plays on their first possession of the half before Craft pumped through his second field of the afternoon, a 31-yard attempt, to make it 34-0.
- The Tigers stretched their lead to 41-0 as the third quarter was winding down. This time, a Burnam nine-yard pass was completed to Chandler Godby for the score.
Fourth Quarter:
- The Tigers were limited in their first two possessions of the fourth quarter, however, Daniel Kamara set up the offense for their final touchdown of the day behind his three rushes for 43 yards.
- Kolter Smith punched the ball in to finalize the running attack, a four-yard rush to close the scoring at 48-0.

The Tigers return home next Saturday to host Warner University (0-1) at 1:30 p.m. at Toyota Stadium. The Royals are coming off an opening week 59-13 road loss to Stetson University.
