Esports Wins First-Ever Valorant Championship, Headed to Nationals

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Georgetown College Esports team won it's first-ever Valorant championship on Monday, defeating Pace Azure Blue 3-0.

The opening map of the match was forfeit win for the Tigers who went on to claim both the second and third maps 13-7.

Reid Schulten helped the Tigers to the victory on the second map with the highest overall combat score of 291. He added 22 kills. Trey Arnett also recorded 20 kills and was second with a 265-combat score.

The third map of the night saw Reid Schulten get 29 kills and a 413-combat score, nearly doubling Pace's top player who had a 218. Nathan Litvin chipped in 17 kills in the victory as well, second-most on the map.

Georgetown earned the tournament's number one seed by going a perfect 7-0 during the spring Valorant season.

Georgetown receives an auto bid to the national tournament which is slated to begin on Monday, April 20.
