7th Inning Proves to be the Difference

Heading into the 7th, the Tigers were all square with SSU. In the top half of the 7th, the Tigers would take the lead thanks to a sacrifice fly from Andrew Cromwell. Now heading into the bottom of the 7th, things looked to be in favor of the Tigers, as they had one of their best relievers in the game, as Julian Huerta would go back out for his second inning of work. He would get one quick out, but then back to back home runs for the Bears, would prove to be the decider, as the Tigers would fall 8-7.

Matthew Flores got the start, as he would only go three innings while giving up four runs. David Souza would then come in for Flores, as he would go the next two innings, and allow two runs to score. Julian Huerta would finish the game, as he allowed two runs on the home runs. Every Tiger pitcher would give up a home run in the game.

The Tiger offense would be led by Joshua Duarte and Hank Schineller, as they both would have three hits. The Tigers went out to an early lead in the first, thanks to a sac-fly from Payton Rios. The Tigers would not be back in the run column until the fourth, when Julian Huerta would single home the second run of the game. Duarte would come up two batters later to clear the bases on a double. This base-clearing double gave the Tigers the lead again, at 5-4. The Tigers tacked on two more runs from sac-flies in the 5th and 7th.
