Zamora Grabs 3rd Win in Rout
It looked as if Pikeville was going to bounce another Tiger starter early in this one, but Josiah Zamora would lock in, and go a masterful six innings. He would allow three runs in the first two innings, but that would be all. Pikeville had six of their seven hits in the first three innings, and did not get their final one till the sixth inning. Zamora improves to 3-2 on the year, after going 6 innings while allowing three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts. Andrew Day would come on for the seventh to close it out, going 1-2-3 on six pitches.
When constructing a lineup, you have hopes that the top half of your lineup can carry you to victory. That is exactly what the top four in this lineup did for the Tigers, as they combined to go 14 of 22. Together, they had 12 RBI, 9 runs, 3 extra base hits, 2 stolen bases, and only one strike out. Jarrett Chapman and Nick Lopez both had four hits with four RBI to be the main contributors offensively. All but one starter recorded a hit, but all starters did reach base, with eight reaching base multiple times.
