9th Inning Rally Falls Short

9th Inning Rally Falls Short

Heading into the 8th, the Tigers were down nine. However, after four runs in the 8th, they cut the deficit to 5. Hank Schineller started the inning with a home run. Luke Lindamood would double home another run in the inning, then he would score thanks to a single from Joshua Duarte. Jarrett Chapman would then bring in Duarte on his double to left center. Heading into the 9th, there was still hope as they had been string hits together. Schineller would bring home his fourth run of the day on a double, and he would score on a single from Chris O'Neal. Two is all the Tigers would be able to get, as they would fall, 12-9. Hank Schineller led the offense in game one, as he was 3 for 5 with 3 XBH and 4 RBI. Nick Lopez and Chapman would also have multi-hit games in the losing effort.

Matthew Flores got the start, as he would look to build off his success in his last two starts. It would not be a long start for Flores, as he would be pulled after two outs in the third. He would allow five runs on seven hits while striking out four.

The 6th inning would be killer for the Tigers, as they would allow the bases loaded with no outs. Pikeville would capitalize, and score 5 in the 6th to push their lead out to 10-3. They would tack two more in the 7th on a 2-run home run.
