Early Woes Stump Tigers on the Road

Andrew Day got the start in this mid-week matchup against IU-Kokomo. His day would not come to fruition, as he would only go two innings. Over the course of the two innings, he had to work around dome self inflicted damage, and damage from others. While on the mound he walked four, and endured two errors. He would leave the game down 3-1.

Marshall Cuzick would then be called upon next and make his collegiate debut. It was not the best start as after three batters he would allow two runs. But after that, he would settle down and get a strike 'em out throw 'em out double play. He would be the lone pitcher to not walk a batter.

Jared Casebier would then be on for the next inning. He worked a quick 4th, but in the fifth he was only able to get one out, while allowing five runs to score.

Mason Mortimer would be on for the remainder of the game, and would only allow IUK to score three more runs.

In the beginning, it looked as if it was going to be an offensive shootout, but for the latter half of the game, the offense would be quieted. Payton Rios was the lone spark plug on offense as he went 3/4 with a home run and three RBI. He had half of the Tiger hits, as they did not reach base past the 5th inning.

The Tigers are back at home this Thursday as they host Thomas More in MSC play. Two games are being played Thursday, with the third date still to be determined.
