Zamora Catapults Tigers in Game 1

Fresh off of spring break, the Tigers took a trip to Pittsburg, PA to face Point Park in a doubleheader. In game one, Josiah Zamora was entrusted with the start. He delivered for the Tigers as he would go six strong innings, and get his second win of the year, to advance to 2-1. The only runs Zamora would give up would be a solo home run in the sixth inning. The other run would be scored early, as PPU would score on a double from the second batter in the lineup. Besides these two at bats, Zamora would shut down PPU over the course of the rest of his outing. They would scatter hits across the game, but he would navigate through them all. Zamora would leave after six innings, striking out 5 and only giving up one free pass. Pasquale DeFilippis would be given the seventh inning. PPU would pinch hit everyone in the 7th, but that made no difference as DeFilippis would go three up three down to seal the game.

In the second inning, the offense put across four runs. None of the runs came across on a hit, with Payton Rios scoring on a FC, Jose Cazorla and Julian Huerta would score on a wild pitch, and Hunter Klingelhoffer would score on a ground out.

In the fifth and sixth innings, they would score an additional four runs. In the 5th, Cazorla singled home a run. In the sixth, Nick Lopez and Jarret Chapman singled home runs. Enrique Morales doubled home the other run. All nine Tiger starters would reach base in the game, with multiple Tigers with three hits.
