Tigers Fall in Series Finale to LWC
Julian Huerta would get the first start of his GC career in the series finale. Huerta would shut down the Blue Raiders for the first three innings, but would get touched up for three runs in the 4th. Huerta would shut down LWC for the next two innings, but once again got in trouble in the 7th. With two outs and runners on the corners, Huerta would allow a triple that scored both runs. That would be the end of the line for Huerta. Josiah Zamora would then come in, and try to get the final out without allowing anymore runs to score. Zamora would throw a wild pitch that scored a run, walk the batter, and then allow a home run. In the 8th, Coach Randy Guite would go to the 'pen again. Jared Casebier would make the appearance and walked three of the four batters that he faced. Back to the 'pen it was for the Tigers. Gavin Johnsen would be the one tasked with getting out of the inning in his college debut. He would walk the first batter, but would then get a double play to get out of the inning, with only allowing one run to score.
The offense started out quick again in game two, scoring three runs in the first four innings. In the 2nd Bryan Sanders singled to left field scoring a run. In the 3rd, Hank Schineller singled to left field scoring a run, as well. In the 4th, Joshua Duarte scored Jarrett Chapman on a rbi groundout. The other two runs would also come from Schineller, as he would single home a run in the 7th and double home a run in the 9th. Schineller finished the day 4/5 with 3 rbi.
The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday March 14th, as they head to St. Louis, MO to face #10 Missouri Baptist. They are slated to play a double header, with game one starting at 12 pm.
