Dominant Pitching from Flores and timely hitting from Rios and Duarte carry Tigers to Series Win

Starting pitcher Matthew Flores made his presence known in his season debut as he pitched 8 shutout innings while only walking two, giving up five hits, and striking out three. Flores would stay out of trouble for the most part of the game besides the 2nd inning when the bases were juiced and would work out of it to keep it deadlocked. Flores would then hit cruise control and stay in control from there on out. Julian Huerta would come in for the 9th inning for consecutive days and seal another victory.

The offense would stay hot and muster up 10 hits and 4 runs to back up Flores masterpiece. All but one Tiger starter would get a hit as the other eight were able to record a hit. The Tigers' offense would be highlighted by two familiar faces as junior Payton Rios would break the deadlock as he would score two via a double in the 5th inning. Leading 2-0 in the top of the 7th, junior Joshua Duarte would hit a 2-run home run for a 4-0 lead and his third of the year and series.

The Tigers will be back in action as they play the second game of the doubleheader at 3 PM.
