Warriors outlast Tigers in 7-4 game

Georgetown College baseball started off hot Tuesday against Indiana Tech. The Tigers (8-6) opened with back-to-back singles, unfortunately a double play squelched that early opportunity. GC struggled to find an offense again until it was too late, falling 7-4 on the road.

INIT (8-7) scored four more runs in the fourth to put the game away. GC found life in the seventh to cut the deficit in half. Tech got one back and down to its last gasp the Tigers tallied one in the ninth for the final score.

Kyle Fieger started the game and scattered nine hits in five innings with six earned runs. Tom Taplin finished pitched two innings, giving up three hits and one run. Richard Escobedo finished it off with two strikeouts and no hits in his one inning.

The Tigers outhit the Warriors (13-12), but did not string enough together. Adryan Ramirez led with three this, while Phillip Tomasulo, Brandon Benson and Ryan Garner added two hits each.
